The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS), in collaboration with the Commissioner for the Protection of Children’s Rights and the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute are organising the conference:
Gender Equal Education: Innovating through Play
Thursday, 13th June 2019
POED (Kyrenias Av. Aglantzia, Nicosia)
They will present research results from three European projects—GenderEd, Free to Choose and Play it for Change— where we implemented innovative learning methods to combat gender stereotypes using games, music and audiovisual media.
Experts, teachers and students will talk about their experiences developing and playing the Free to Chooseboard game and using the Dream Fighters app, both designed to challenge gender stereotypes.
The conference will also feature music acts and clips created by students across Cyprus secondary schools that deal with preventing gender-based violence in teen relationships.
Participants are invited to network and share knowledge and experiences with European experts who will be in attendance.
Agenda can be found here. RSVP here by Friday 7th June 2019.
